This scene from the independent feature ‘Wild Blue’ is really quite beautifully shot and acted with a very bittersweet quality. There’s no audio other than the soundtrack which is a piece of music I’d written before the director hired me to score the feature. It was a piece the director particularly liked and we decided that not only would it set the tone for the rest of the score, but that a reworked version would have a prominent place in the film.
This cue consists entirely of guitars with a single cello introduced toward the end. The guitar textures were first treated with delay, tremolo and distortion and then reversed, looped and sustained as necessary to create the undulating backing track for the melody guitar and cello.
